Patrick Martin BSc. RRT

Patrick Martin-Arrowsmith RRT MSc.

Patrick Martin-Arrowsmith rrt, msc.

My name is Patrick Martin-Arrowsmith, and I am a respiratory therapist, nutrition coach, scientist and biohacker, with a profound passion for human health and performance optimization.

I began working as a Respiratory Therapist in 2010, and to this day work within the clinical and sleep diagnostic settings. My experience as a respiratory therapist has given me a deep understanding of the physiology of breathing and the power it can have for human health and performance. I have developed many protocols for various forms of meditative breathing to power breath type breathing exercises that can help the regular individual or the elite athlete improve their lung function, and overall athletic performance.

I currently work within sleep laboratory setting, which has given me insight into the fascinating world of sleep and sleep diagnostics. Sleep is an underestimated aspect of health and performance, and I have been biohacking for many years and have developed many practices, protocols and bio hacks to help individuals maximize their sleep.

My BSc. in nutrition from McGill gave me a deeper understanding of human biology, physiology, and how certain foods and nutraceuticals can be used to increase athletic performance, energy, recovery, sleep and cognitive function. My love of food & nutrition is a daily practice, I am constantly reading, learning and applying the newest techniques to myself and clients. I have developed a unique meal plan structure and have a vast tool box of techniques to help individuals lose weight, increase muscle, improve recovery and performance. I have also developed unique and accurate protocols for assessing body fat and muscle mass, using advanced tools.

My MSc. in Exercise Physiology at McGill, under supervision of Dr. Churchward-Venne (the head of nutrition and exercise research) gave me a deeper understanding of the research process, as well as reading, interpreting and writing scientific literature. Dr. Churchward-Venne gave me plenty of opportunity to participate in multiple studies and publications outside of my core research on exogenous ketones and muscle recovery. See a list of my scientific publications below.

My practice as a biohacker began in January 2016 at a football performance facility, where I began to apply my techniques to elite level athletes and trend positive results. To this day I worked with 1000’s of clients all over the world, including professional athletes from the NHL, CFL, NFL, MMA and grappling. The world of human performance is ever evolving, and I am grateful to be at the forefront of its application.
